REMINDER: No K-5 Bedrock Classes July/August
Our Bedrock Children's Ministry has a renewed sense of compassion and purpose as we strive to partner together with parents in engaging children in discussions about Jesus. Because our leaders put so much time and energy into their roles with families we want to honor them by allowing them a season to rest and recuperate this summer so they can be fresh and motivated going into the Fall of 2010 ministry season. This is why ALL of our classes in Kindergarten through 5th Grade will be OFF for the months of July & August. Please stop by the Bedrock table outside the auditorium before the service to pick up a Children's Bible, bulletin and activity bag for your child to use during the service. God-Time cards will also be available weekly. These are daily devotions for your kids and tools that parents can use to intentionally start discussions with their kids each day; and the great thing is that it doesn't take long, just minutes each day that could amount to a lifetime of positive memories in the lives of your children. Enjoy your summer growing in God together!
Mission: To partner with families to help children take their next step toward an intimate and contagious relationship with Jesus Christ
Vision: To provide a safe, loving, fun, child-centered environment where our kids can worship, learn, and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. |
We divide Bedrock into four age specific groups:
GEMS: (infant through age 12 months)
Children are cared for by loving volunteers who help each child feel
secure and happy with lots of hugs, smiles, stories, playtime, and comfort. |
PEBBLES: (12 months and walking to 3 years) enjoy a hands-on curriculum that is designed to teach Biblical truth through age appropriate crafts, finger
plays, games and music. Of course it wouldn't be early childhood without snacks, playtime and plenty of love from caring volunteers. |
NUGGETS: (3 - PreK) join with loving nuggets volunteers who use a step-by-step approach to engage kids and reach them according to their learning style.
This curriculum uses crafts, finger plays, games and music to teach the Bible story. |
BOULDERS: (k-5)
Children in K-5 meet in a small group setting of 8 -12 children their age and a Small Group Leader to participate in an exciting, hands-on curriculum built around three basic truths every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52:
- I need to make a wise choice. (wisdom)
- I can trust God know matter what (faith)
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated. (friendship)
Each week’s lesson includes an engaging presentation of these basic truths as well as an illustration of how God built His character (virtue) in people through a Bible story. The Bible story is then followed up with a variety of activities, games and experiences, meant to promote discussion and life application of the lesson, development of faith skills, and more importantly build relationships among the leader and friends in the group. The children enjoy fun, Biblically solid teachings while, more importantly, experiencing the love of Jesus. |
